What will be the school's vision and values be?

While the Trust has established a vision and values for the school, we intend to refine these with our foundational staff, students and families once the school is operational.


When will the school be open?

We aim to be open for instruction in February 2025.  See our timeline for more detail.

When will we need to enrol?

We are currently taking no-obligation expressions of interest.  We will hold an information sessions in early April 2024 and will be open for enrolments late April 2024.  

How many students will be in each class?

We will have a maximum ratio of 20 students to 1 teacher.

Where will the school be located?

We are currently securing a location in Mangawhai and will make this information public as soon as possible.

What will it cost?

We cannot confirm exact fees at this stage but we expect tuition fees to be approximately $15,000-$16,000 per year.  There will be additional school related costs, including consumables and excursion fees.  These costs will be made explicit prior to opening for enrolments.

What is a partnership school and what might this look like?

The ACT party, in coalition with National, are planning to reintroduce kura hourua/partnership schools, also known as charter schools.  We are watching this space and monitoring the legislation closely. 

What year levels will be taught?

Initial offerings will be subject to enrolment, with a view to eventually be open to Years 7-13.

What curriculum will the school follow?

We are applying to become registered with an international curriculum provider that has a support network of over 10,000 schools and is recognised by universities and employers worldwide.  This curriculum offers a wide range of subjects and a well-structured, yet flexible learning pathway through a skills based approach to teaching and learning.  We will also incorporate Te Mātaiaho | the refreshed NZ curriculum from Year 7-9.

What hours will the school be open?

We will follow a regular school day and term dates.

Will there be a uniform?

We don't intend to have a school uniform, however if it is something our students and families would like, we will be open to discussion.

Will the school have an enrolment zone?

No.  Applications are welcome from all students, but priority will be given to those who are Mangawhai-based.


How can we support the school?

If you have any expertise that may be of support to the Trust in the school's establishment phase, we would love to hear from you.  (e.g. IT, building, environmental planning, equipment donations, fundraising support...)
